You may follow the steps below to watch a live feed from your device via VLC Media Player.

Applies to: All Reolink IP cameras( Reolink E1 pro and E1 zoom included) except for battery-powered cameras and B800/D800/B400/D400/E1/ Reolink Lumus. 

Step 1. Download and install the latest version of the VLC player.

Step 2. Go to Media > Open Network Stream > Network:

Step 3. Input the RTSP URL.

The RTSP URL should be:

Main Stream: rtsp://admin:password@ip_address:554/h264Preview_01_main

Sub Stream: rtsp://admin:password@ip_address:554/h264Preview_01_sub

Note: Since the video format for the new 8mp model RLC-810A, RLC-820A& RLC-1220A is H.265, if you want to see the main RTSP stream, please change ‘’h264“to “h265“.

For example,

if your device IP address is 192.168.0.110 and the password is 111111, then your RTSP URL should be:

Main Stream: rtsp://admin:111111@192.168.0.110:554/h264Preview_01_main

Sub Stream:  rtsp://admin:111111@192.168.0.110:554/h264Preview_01_sub

If your model is 8mp/12mp model, then

Main Stream: rtsp://admin:111111@192.168.0.110:554/h265Preview_01_main

Sub Stream:  rtsp://admin:111111@192.168.0.110:554/h264Preview_01_sub

Step 4. Double-check the URL and then click Play to start the live feed.

Note: the 4k cameras connected with the 4k NVR system will only show a fluent live stream instead of the clear live stream due to the H.264+(h.265) limit.
